Alumni Speak: Rohit Sukhija
S P Jain’s GMBA program was truly enlightening.
I joined this program keeping my other offers, including a few from different ivy-league colleges, aside. Therefore, my hopes and expectations were sky high. And the program not only met those expectations but exceeded them. I dearly remember the business strategy and IT strategy lectures and workshops which were designed specifically to help us, as experienced professionals as well as students, to understand the complex business problems and help build that ability to perform under pressure and solve those complex problems with a combination of an academic and practical approach.
Peers came together with a passion to achieve something beyond the regular academics on a regular basis. The day was too short for us and there was so much to learn and do. We however managed to get the most out of it while also learning about the local business environment.
S P Jain also provided the support and opportunity to participate in the local events, conferences and business hi-tea and ensured there was guidance at different stages of involvement in these events.
The best part that I remember and still use of my S P Jain days is the usage of data for decision making. Being a product manager, data driven decision-making is key for me in my day to day work and I have been able to build this ability on extensive focus on data analytic and data engineering subjects we had. While I remember how hard it was to crack those data analytic assignments, I thank to my professors for making us go through it. This has been perhaps the most useful part of my professional life.
And there was fun too. We had counter strike contests, cricket matches, parties, city tours and stage shows. S P Jain was a great experience and I wish I could be student again someday.
