Journey of growth and transformation of a GMBA Alumni
-Rohit Srivastava, GMBA graduate of 2024
My journey began in Prayagraj, a small city in Uttar Pradesh, India, well known for its cultural heritage and spirituality. After completing my B.Com Honours from the University of Delhi in 2019, I spent three invaluable years as a Project Executive. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of a transformative path that would take me across borders and industries.
Today, I am proud to call myself an internationally trained graduate of SP Jain Global. My Global MBA journey was more than just a degree—it was an eye-opening adventure that shaped both my professional career and personal growth. Within three months of completing my GMBA, I landed an exciting role as a Consultant (Specialist, Projects) at Blenheim Chalcot, where I now work as part of the CEO’s Office, learning from visionary leaders and helping scale businesses.
From SP Jain to Blenheim Chalcot
Joining the business world after my MBA was like stepping into a thrilling new adventure, filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and challenge myself. At Blenheim Chalcot India, entrepreneurship isn’t just encouraged—it’s embedded in our DNA. This fast-paced, innovative environment has taught me to embrace growth, celebrate risk-taking, and tackle real-world challenges with boldness and creativity. Working closely with leadership has transformed my approach to problem-solving and sharpened my strategic thinking.
The Power of Industry Insights and Hands-On Learning
One of the most transformative aspects of SP Jain Global’s GMBA program was its focus on real-world industry experience. During my time there, I had the chance to lead key projects with global companies like Al Ghurair Group in the UAE and SAP in Singapore. These projects exposed me to cutting-edge fields like AI-ML frameworks and cloud adoption strategies. The hands-on learning approach not only deepened my technical skills but also prepared me for the challenges of scaling businesses in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
SP Jain’s curriculum is rich with real-world problems and innovative solutions, and the industry sessions gave me a deep understanding of what to expect in the corporate world. Being able to interact with experts and represent SP Jain among peers from top Indian B-schools was an empowering experience.
Beyond the Classroom: Embracing Opportunities
At SP Jain Global, the learning didn’t stop in the classroom. I was privileged to represent the institution at COP28 in Dubai and actively contribute to campus life as a Well-being Ambassador, organizing peer counseling and mental health workshops. I also managed to balance academics with my passion for sports, winning medals in basketball, cricket, and football. Along with my teammates Rishabh Mittal and Akansha Bansal, I secured first place in the Ideate Design Brand competition at SPJ-SGM in Dubai. These extracurricular experiences not only enriched my journey but also shaped my approach to leadership and teamwork.
These experiences enriched my journey and shaped my outlook on leadership and collaboration.
Embracing the Unpredictable
If my journey at SP Jain has taught me anything, it’s that life is unpredictable. You meet people from diverse cultures, exchange ideas, and grow in unexpected ways. This blend of joy and hardship transformed my perspective and helped me embrace the unpredictability of life.
Advice for Aspiring GMBA Students
To future GMBA students, my advice is simple: Stay curious, build meaningful connections, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. The journey is as important as the destination, and the relationships you build will be invaluable. Your time at SP Jain will shape not just your career but your entire outlook on life. Trust me—your future self will thank you for making the most of this experience.
