From Curiosity to Clarity: Executive MBA Journey with SP Jain Global

-Narendra Gohil, EMBA Intake of 2024
A year ago, I was standing at a crossroads.
Professionally, I was doing well handling responsibilities, managing teams, and delivering results. But deep down, I knew there was more. I wanted to think more strategically, lead more confidently, and understand the bigger picture beyond the day-to-day operations.
That’s when the idea of an Executive MBA began to take shape.
After exploring various programs, SP Jain Global stood out as the most suitable option. It wasn’t just the global brand name or flexible format. It was the promise of transformation of learning with people like me, from across industries and countries, and being taught by faculty who had actually worked in the real world, not just written textbooks about it.
So, I took the leap.
The First Few Weeks: A Jolt and a Joy
When the program began, it felt like jumping into the deep end. I was surrounded by senior professionals, marketers, engineers, entrepreneurs, analysts, and consultants, all with rich experience and diverse viewpoints. At first, I wondered, Will I be able to keep up?

But that’s the beauty of SP Jain Global’s Executive MBA, it’s not about competition. It’s about collaboration. Slowly, group assignments, debates, and presentations began to turn strangers into teammates and then into friends.
And somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling like a student. I started feeling like a leader in training someone who is learning not just what to think, but how to think.
Learning that Connects to Real Work
One of the moments that truly shifted my thinking happened during a simulation in our Change Management class. We had to drive a change initiative in a fictional organisation. Sounds simple, right? However, we had to contend with stakeholder resistance, timing of communication, resource constraints, and credibility issues — just like in real life.
That session was eye-opening. It made me realise that change isn’t about telling people what to do, it’s about inspiring, influencing, and sometimes just listening. I took those lessons straight to my workplace, and the results were visible. My ability to navigate conversations, lead initiatives, and align teams improved significantly.
That’s what sets this program apart: every lesson, case study, or simulation feels immediately applicable.
A Community That Moves With You
The academic curriculum is robust, no doubt. But what really elevates this journey is the EMBA community.
Whether it’s the Toastmasters club, where I honed my public speaking and storytelling skills, or informal peer sessions where we shared work dilemmas and life advice, the learning has always gone beyond the classroom.
The faculty, especially the Dean and Associate Dean, are approachable, inspiring, and deeply invested in our success. Their mentorship doesn’t feel formal — it feels personal.
And the network you build here? It’s not just for the two years. It’s for life. I’ve had late-night brainstorming calls, early-morning pitch rehearsals, and even job referrals — all thanks to this tight-knit community.
To Those Considering the EMBA Path
If you’re a working professional, wondering whether an Executive MBA is worth your time, energy, and money, here’s what I’ve learned:
Yes, it demands discipline. Yes, it challenges your comfort zone. But the growth you experience is unmatched.
You’ll start seeing your work through a new lens. You’ll speak the language of strategy, finance, innovation, and leadership with confidence. And most importantly, you’ll gain clarity about where you’re going and who you want to become.
For me, SP Jain Global didn’t just give me an EMBA degree. It gave me a new perspective, a new network, and a renewed sense of purpose.
So, if you’re ready to invest in yourself, not just for a promotion, but for transformation, this is the place to begin.
