Across Countries, Cultures and Classrooms: Harsha Vardhan Godha’s Journey to a Supply Chain Career

I’m Harsha Vardhan Godha, a Business Management graduate who has always been fascinated by how businesses solve complex operational challenges. Before joining SP Jain Global, I gained experience across operations, Supply chain and technology services, which strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills. However, I wanted to build a career with a global perspective one that combined business strategy, technology, and supply chain transformation.
That’s what drew me to the Master of Global Business (MGB) at SP Jain Global. The opportunity to study across international campuses, learn from industry leaders, and collaborate with classmates from around the world made it the perfect environment to prepare for a global career.
1. Looking back at your MGB journey so far, what have been the most memorable learning experiences?
The biggest takeaway from my MGB journey has been that learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom.
Some of my most memorable experiences came through experiential learning. Prof. Rajiv Asrekar’s Supply Chain Simulation course transformed theoretical concepts into practical decision-making. Managing inventory, warehouse operations, and end-to-end supply chains through simulations gave me an appreciation of how interconnected business functions really are. Those exercises are something I still relate to in my current role.
Equally influential was learning from Prof. Umesh Kothari. His Blue Ocean Strategy course challenged us to think differently about innovation and competitive advantage, while StratBuzz, SP Jain Global’s strategy club, became a platform where we debated business cases, analysed industries, and learned to approach problems with a strategic mindset.
As someone now working in supply chain consulting, I also appreciate how relevant Prof. Nitin Chaudhary’s Demand Planning and Prof. Raj Adhya’s Lean Supply Chain courses have become. The concepts of forecasting, inventory optimisation, lean operations, and process improvement are no longer classroom theories, they’re part of my daily work.
Beyond academics, the program’s Global Learning experiences made a lasting impact. Visiting the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) showed us how long-term planning, sustainability, and innovation shape world-class cities. Cultural workshops like Chinese business etiquette and golf networking reminded us that global business is ultimately about understanding people and building relationships across cultures.

2. We understand you’ve recently secured a role in Dubai. Tell us about your role, the organisation, and what excites you most about this opportunity.
I recently joined Slimstock Dubai as a professional, and it’s been an exciting opportunity to apply everything I’ve learned at SP Jain Global.
Slimstock is a global leader in AI-powered supply chain planning, helping organisations improve demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, replenishment planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and overall supply chain performance through its planning platform, Slim4.
As part of the implementation and consulting team, I work closely with customers to understand their supply chain challenges, support solution implementation, configure planning systems, and help businesses improve operational efficiency through data-driven decision-making.
What excites me most is that every project is different. Every client has unique challenges, which means I’m constantly learning while seeing firsthand how technology and consulting create measurable business value.

3. How did your learning at SP Jain Global help you prepare for and succeed in your current role?
One of the reasons I was able to transition smoothly into my role at Slimstock is because SP Jain Global emphasises learning by doing.
The supply chain simulations gave me a practical understanding of business operations before I entered the workplace. Courses in Demand Planning, Lean Supply Chain, operations management, and business analytics provided the technical foundation that I now use while working on client implementations.
The strategic thinking I developed through Blue Ocean Strategy and StratBuzz helps me approach business problems from multiple perspectives rather than looking for one fixed solution.
The Professional Readiness Program (PRP) was equally valuable. It strengthened my communication, interview preparation, and professional confidence, helping me secure this opportunity.
Today, whether I’m discussing demand forecasting, analysing inventory performance, or supporting implementation projects, I often realise that many of the concepts I learned at SP Jain Global have become part of my everyday work.
4. How has studying in a multicultural environment prepared you for working internationally?
Studying across global campuses taught me that business is never one-size-fits-all.
Working with classmates from different countries exposed me to diverse perspectives, communication styles, and ways of solving problems. It encouraged me to become more adaptable, culturally aware, and collaborative.
Those experiences have been incredibly valuable in Dubai, where I now work with international teams and clients from different industries and backgrounds. In many ways, SP Jain Global prepared me for this environment long before I entered the workplace.

5. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Over the next five years, I see myself as an Agile business professional working at the intersection of supply chain, technology, and strategy. While my current journey is focused on supply chain consulting, I want to continuously explore how AI, analytics, and digital transformation can help organisations become smarter and more resilient.
In today’s fast-changing VUCA world, I believe the ability to adapt and learn is just as important as expertise. The MGB program at SP Jain Global has helped me develop a global mindset, strategic thinking, and the confidence to embrace new challenges.
My goal is to keep evolving, contribute to meaningful transformation projects, and create impact by connecting technology with real business needs.
6. What advice would you give to future MGB students?
My advice is simple: make the most of every opportunity.
Attend every industry visit, participate in simulations, join clubs like StratBuzz, engage with your professors, and embrace the Global Learning experiences. Some of my biggest learnings came outside traditional lectures, whether it was visiting the Singapore URA, discussing business strategy with faculty, or working on supply chain simulations.
Most importantly, stay curious. The MGB program at SP Jain Global gives you access to world-class faculty, international exposure, and practical learning. The more you immerse yourself in those experiences, the more prepared you’ll be, not just for your first job, but for a truly global career.
Looking back, SP Jain Global didn’t simply help me earn a degree, it gave me the confidence, perspective and practical skills to begin my journey with Slimstock and pursue a career in global supply chain consulting.
