Exploring the World of Luxury – Aditya Kulkarni’s Journey with the Luxury Management Program

Aditya Kulkarni - Luxury Management Program - Success Story

My personal experience with SP Jain’s luxury management program was one of a kind. The course is beautifully designed – while regular class attendance and participation helped me prepare well for assignments and examinations, our professors went out of their way to guide us even outside the classrooms. We had numerous international faculty who helped us gain niche expertise. Their tie-ups with local agencies also helped us a lot – right from finding accommodation to the Visa verification interviews. The made the cumbersome process of moving to a new country completely hassle-free.

The course opened up new experiences and prepared me to accept new challenges. I am grateful that I could take advantage of this unique educational opportunity and get involved in campus events at both Mumbai and Milan – the world’s top luxury capitals.

Personally, I believe that the best experience is a hands-on experience. Unlike the regular programs which allow students just 1-2 industry visits amidst a plethora of textbook-based lectures, the MGLuxM program adopted a completely hands-on learning methodology, including countless cultural and industry immersions. These allowed us to understand the challenges faced by real-world luxury brands and helped me improve my problem-solving skills. It helped me link the knowledge I had gained inside the classrooms to what actually happens at the shop floors.

Apart from these, SP Jain also organised several Conversation Series, where some of the top industry experts came down to our campus and shared their immense knowledge with us. We got a chance to interact with these diverse group of luxury leaders, learn from their experiences and challenges, and ask them our queries.

In the last term of the program, I interned at Frédérique Constant S.A., a top luxury wristwatch manufacturer. This was by far one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had. The internship allowed me to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds – both professionally and culturally. What an exciting way to end the 12-month program!

Opportunities don’t happen, SP Jain and MIP Create them.
